Ghost audit: membership walls vs a citable publication

· Configuration notes, not a newsroom.

Ghost fingerprints from generator and /ghost/api/. SiteRune scores the public HTML. Members-only posts we cannot fetch do not count as AEO coverage.

Ghost(Pro) vs self-host

Self-hosted Ghost: nginx in front, headers and cache you control, Ghost as the origin. Ghost(Pro): you get less header surface. Same rule as other hosted CMSes — proxy if you need CSP/HSTS the admin will not send.

Publication, not a paywall homepage

Ghost is good at Article JSON-LD and dates. Use that. If the homepage is a membership pitch with no entity and no public posts in HTML, the AEO chapter will look empty. SiteRune walks public URLs. It will not log in as a member.

Run it on a live URL

The brief will name your CMS and attach the files. Three guest scans, no card.
