SiteRune vs Ahrefs
· Configuration notes, not a newsroom.
Ahrefs is backlinks, keywords, and site-explorer. SiteRune is not a rank tracker. It will not estimate referring domains. It will tell you GPTBot is banned.
AHDifferent jobs
Ahrefs maps the link graph and the SERP. That is a real job. SiteRune will not pretend to replace Site Explorer or Keywords Explorer. We do not estimate organic traffic. The charts on our homepage are labeled scenarios.
What we do: fetch HTML and headers, walk a handful of interior URLs, fingerprint the CMS, score robots/schema/llms.txt/security headers, and attach nginx / next.config / WordPress snippets.
When to use which
- Ahrefs: who links to you, which keywords you already rank for, content gap vs a competitor's URL list.
- SiteRune: can a crawler ground an entity, is /pricing noindex, is HSTS missing, what file to paste this week.
- Both: fix the origin with SiteRune, then use Ahrefs to see if the SERP noticed. We will not sell you a backlink package.

FAQ
Does SiteRune replace ahrefs?
No. Use the comparison table. SiteRune is a hosted configuration brief with CMS dialect and ship files. It does not replace rank tracking, backlink graphs, lab Core Web Vitals, or a desktop site-wide crawl.
What does a SiteRune scan actually fetch?
HTML and headers from this vantage point, robots.txt, sitemap, llms.txt, security.txt, and a polite walk of same-origin interiors. No headless Chrome. No exploits.
